Today I’d like to officially announce the birth of my new, self-inflicted, photography project, which I very affectionately called Project Antarctica 366.
The idea
There have already been a number of photographers who embarked on the idea of doing what’s commonly called Project 365, where for the whole year, the person commits to taking at least one picture every day. By the end of the year, if the said person perseveres, they will end up with 365 pictures taken in 365 days.
I’ve decided to try it with a photo project of my own. Considering that I’ll be in Antarctica for the whole of 2016 (and a bit of 2015 and 2017), and that 2016 is a leap year, I thought I’d give my project a catchy name: Antarctica 366.
The commitment
Here’s my commitment: I will take a minimum of one picture, starting from today, every day of 2016. I will put the effort in and try to do the best I can. I can’t promise that each and every picture will be world class, but I will strive for this. I can’t also promise that I will publish a picture every single day – sometimes work might get in the way, or we might have issues with the Internet connection, etc. I will, however, still try to take a picture each and every day, and I will publish each as soon as I can.
Where to find the pictures
I’m still setting things up and I haven’t decided fully yet where to make those available. I may create a new section on this blog, or on my other site where I host picture galleries. Things are likely to change as well in the first few days while I’m trying to figure out the best way to present the fruit of Project Antarctica 366. Just bear with me and I’ll keep you up to date. Please note, I’m starting the taking pictures part from today, but the results may take another couple of days to be published.
Finally, wish me luck, send me some feedback to keep me motivated, and give me a kick if you don’t see anything for too long!
Super pomysł, choć wymagać będzie SYSTEMATYCZNOŚCI ! 😉
I dlatego trzeba mnie bedzie motywowac! 🙂
The very best of luck in this very interesting concept. I’d be very interested in keeping tabs on it , although I’ll admit to having no photographic ability myself.
