Hi!
This post is a beginning of a new series, called “Photo Friday”.
The idea of the series is twofold:
First, it will give me a chance to share with you some of the beauty of Antarctica. You have to believe me that my pictures really don’t do it justice, but at the same time I’ll be trying my best to show you what I’m so fortunate to see.
And this leads me to the second reason to start the series. The idea is for me to improve my photography. This series gives me a very loose plan, which basically is to come up with a picture or a few each week, so I can put them up on my blog, for you to see. I’d also like to try to discuss how those pictures were taken or what was going through my mind when I was taking them or anything else that accompanied the process of taking the shot.
Also, the series is called “Photo Friday”, as I would like to put a new post every Friday, however the pictures won’t necessarily have been taken that Friday! Ideally I will take new shots during the week between one post and the next, but we’ll just have to play it by ear a little bit. I might also use the opportunity to share with you some of the shots from the past if I think they are worthy of sharing!
And finally, please use the comments form below for discussion — your feedback is most welcome! Also, if you do have any questions as to how a picture was taken, I’ll be more than happy to try to answer those.
First Photo Friday
I have to apologise straight away, as this first Photo Friday starts… on Sunday!
I’ve been trying to come up with the best form for the Photo Friday series, and this was kind of a last moment idea, so didn’t really have enough time to figure out all the technicalities behind it. The slow Internet connection certainly doesn’t help either!
Anyways, I’d like to start my first post with the topic of weather. We had a very strong wind recently, with the wind speeds reaching 45 knots (gusting to 55 knots!). Thursday last week the wind has died down a bit and we got a bit of sunshine and partially cloudy, partially blue skies, so I took the opportunity to go out and try to capture the picture of the wind. You tell me how did I do!
Super zdjęcia, dobry opis. Tylko pozazdrościć takich widoków !!!! 🙂
