It doesn’t get completely dark anymore!

The sky doesn’t get completely dark anymore at Halley – the winter season is nearing an end and the summer is only around the corner.

I had hopes to see the brilliant aurora we’ve been getting the forecasts for, but unfortunately, it wasn’t very strong and when it was visible, it was only just so due to the glow of twilight. In the picture there is slight aurora glow visible just over the modules.

It was still a beautiful night – the temperature was around -26°C with just over 5 knots southerly wind, and not a cloud in the sky!
